Write for Nintendo News

Write for Nintendo News

At Nintendo News, delivering highly polished, accurate, and timely news is our main purpose in life. But reading news all the time can get boring; we round it out by providing current game reviews for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, analytical features, and exclusive interviews from key persons in the industry.

If you are handy with words, knowledgeable about Nintendo, and want to create quality original content for the Nintendo community and its fans, we may have an open spot for you on our team.

Writing for Nintendo News grants you free access to press events, such as E3, and early access to games prior to their public release. There are a number of important requirements that accompany each position at Nintendo News, however.

News Writer:

In order to write news content for Nintendo News, it’s necessary to have a working knowledge and understanding of news journalism. Depending on the scope of the subject, news articles can range anywhere from 100 to 500+ words. As of February 2015, we have adopted a traditional Associated Press style of writing — mixed in with a few in-house rules of our own.

Games Reviewer:

It’s nice to have early access to games before everyone else gets a chance to play them, but reviewing them in a timely manner — to meet an embargo date, for example — can prove to be a challenging task. Nintendo and third-party publishers often provide us with review copies of game software, either in physical or digital format. Feel free to peruse our reviews.

If you have experience reviewing games, please get in touch with us below and remember to include links to samples of your work.

Features Writer:

Have a great video game guide you’d like to put together and share with fans? What about a thought-provoking piece on the analysis of Nintendo’s future? Maybe you’d like to write a background story on your favorite game developer or icon. Coming up with unique ideas is often difficult. Coming up with unique ideas and then writing about them is even more difficult.

If you’re a creative thinker and writer and have experience writing featured content, get in touch with us below and remember to include links to samples of your work.

Blogger:

As of December 2015, we opened a section dedicated for blog posting. Our blog posts do not adhere to our formal news format, so bloggers at Nintendo News can enjoy writing shorter, sweeter posts about not-so-newsy (but noteworthy) topics of interest — a good deal they found on a Nintendo game or system, the latest Nintendo Minute episode, or even a new silly television commercial for an upcoming game. It’s a more casual form of writing with with a bit of freedom at your fingertips.

Want to start blogging? If you have experience, please get in touch with us below and remember to include links to samples of your work.

Note: This position is currently available.

If any of the above available positions interest you, please take a moment to fill out the form below to let us know you’re ready to write. If we find your submission interesting, a Nintendo News member will contact you. All positions are voluntary.
