Super Meat Boy Pummels Wii U eShop May 12

Team Meat’s hit precision platformer Super Meat Boy arrives on the North American and European Wii U eShops on May 12, with discounts to boot.

Blitworks will be handling the porting and publishing of the Wii U version, the Barcelona-based studio announced earlier today. Fans seeking a ruthless, relentless platforming experience can even take advantage of a limited-time 20 percent discount.

In addition, BlitWorks teased fans with a — seemingly inevitable — release of Super Meat Boy on Nintendo 3DS — with a Pokémon twist. “It was finally released on PS4 and Vita last year and with the Wii U version arriving this month, only the 3DS will be missing (but maybe not for too long). Gotta catch them all!”

Super Meat Boy will initially launch on the Wii U eShop at the price of $14/£13/€14, with the 20 percent discount extending through May 26. The game’s European launch trailer is below.

What about you? Are you a glutton for punishment? Will you be enduring the pain that Super Meat Boy will bring to the eShop next week?
