Update (August 13): Following today’s Nintendo eShop update on Wii U, the publisher listed for Pandora’s Tower was XSEED Games — the publisher responsible for the physical version of the game that released on Wii. Many questions later, Nintendo has changed the listed publisher for the eShop version of Pandora’s Tower from XSEED Games to themselves; however, the game’s page on Nintendo’s website still lists XSEED as the publisher.
Publisher XSEED Games’ popular Wii-exclusive Japanese role-playing hit Pandora’s Tower is set to launch in the North American Wii U eShop tomorrow.
Thanks to the efforts of Operation Rainfall, Pandora’s Tower, along with Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story, were localized for fans in America. Following tomorrow’s eShop update, Pandora’s Tower will be available to download for $19.99.
The Japanese RPG joins other Wii titles Metroid Prime: Trilogy, Punch-Out!!, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and, most recently, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land. As with other Wii titles on the eShop, Pandora’s Tower may not include certain functionality found in the Wii game; Miiverse integration is also not possible.
In Pandora’s Tower, a cursed young women (Elena) slowly transforms into a hideous monster. Taking on the role of an ex-soldier named Aeron, you must retrieve the flesh of twelve “masters” and free Elena of her curse.
Pandora’s Tower, developed by Ganbarion, launched on Wii in North America on April 16, 2013. Check out the game’s first official North American trailer below.
