Successful Kickstarter funding has secured a Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night prequel mini-game, a separate story-based game inspired by retro-style graphics, for Nintendo 3DS.
Fans have now contributed more than $4.75 million for Inti Creates’ upcoming spiritual successor to games in the Castlevania series, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The amount guarantees a 2D, pixel-based mini-game that follows the story of Bloodstained prior to the game’s main character, Miriam, awaking from her coma.
The Bloodstained prequel mini-game is a port from the console version of the prequel mini-game, scheduled to arrive on Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita. Further details will be announced at a later date.
Yacht Club Games’ popular dirt-digging hero Shovel Knight will make a mysterious appearance in the game, the developers announced yesterday.
The Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night project — headed by former Castlevania series producer Koji Igarashi — recently became the most successful Kickstarter campaign, amassing more than $4 million dollars contributed by more than 55,000 interested fans. Mere hours left, the campaign will end tonight at 11 p.m. ET.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is currently scheduled to release in March 2017 on Wii U, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Mac, Linux, and Windows PC.
