The price for the digital version of Bayonetta 2 on the eShop has been reduced by 50 percent following the game’s standalone retail release yesterday.
When Bayonetta 2 launched in retail stores across North America at the suggested retail price of $59.99 in October 2014, it was bundled with a bonus game disc for the original Bayonetta game. But the eShop versions were priced a bit different — $49.99 for Bayonetta 2 and $9.99 for Bayonetta; however, to receive Bayonetta at the discounted $9.99 price, Bayonetta 2 had to first be purchased.
As of February 19 (yesterday), a standalone version of Bayonetta 2 became available in retail stores at the suggested retail price of $29.99, which has resulted in new price points for each title on Nintendo’s digital storefront. Each digital version of the game now costs $29.99, excluding any tax.
Those interested in downloading either version can expect to set aside a good chunk of digital real estate, too. The Bayonetta 2 download size weighs in at 17.5 GB while the original Bayonetta game boasts 14.6 GB. A Bayonetta 2 demo can also be downloaded.
And if you haven’t read our interview with Hellena Taylor, the voice actress for Bayonetta, then what are you waiting for? Indeed, Taylor’s quite the charming and intelligent person.
