Pokémon GO Halloween Event Awards Extra Candy

Pokémon GO Halloween Event Awards Extra Candy

Pokémon GO Trainers can look forward to enjoying a Halloween event to earn extra Candy and encounter spooky Pokémon starting this Wednesday.

From October 26 through Tuesday, November 1, every caught Pokémon will award six pieces of Candy instead or the normal three. Professor Willow will also give Trainers two Candies for every Pokémon they transfer to him.

“It’s been incredible watching people explore their neighborhoods and catch wild Pokémon all summer,” said Tatsuo Nomura, senior product manager at Niantic, Inc. “We would like to trick-or-treat in our own special way by giving Trainers the chance to catch more Pokémon and earn extra Candy this Halloween.”

In addition, Buddy Pokémon will award Candy four times faster than the normal rate. On top of that, Trainers will receive twice the amount of Candy than normal for every hatched Egg.

“The excitement of Pokémon’s 20-year celebration continues this Halloween with the first-ever in-game Pokémon GO event,” said J.C. Smith, senior director of consumer marketing at The Pokémon Company International. “We anticipate seeing many Pokémon-themed costumes during this anniversary year, and now Trainers can add Pokémon GO to their trick-or-treat route to receive Candy and add some of the spookier Pokémon to their Pokédex.”

As an added surprise, the following seven Pokémon will appear more often in the wild during the Halloween event: Drowzee, Gastly, Gengar, Golbat, Haunter, Hypno, and Zubat.

  1. This is great although I am finding it hard to find my regular Pokémon that I still need. They are very few and far between. I haven’t seen a Machop in two days. ☹️ Thanks for the Trick’o’treats. ?

  2. For me the event went live on the 25th and seemed to increase spawn rates of Cubone, Marowak and Meowth as well. As far as that goes, it took me maybe two hours of just casually driving and catching to get a decent Gengar and an alright Marowak.

  3. It is Tuesday in the States and I just discovered the changes around 6:30pm central time. I got so excited and played for hours! Super cool idea.
