Miitomo, the My Nintendo rewards program, and an enhanced Wii U and Nintendo 3DS shop are set to launch simultaneously in the West on March 31.
People who want to preregister for Miitomo can still do so before 1:00 a.m. PT/ 4:00 a.m. ET tomorrow, which will earn them Platinum Points for use with My Nintendo; points can be used to redeem a variety of digital rewards such as Miitomo clothing, game software, and HOME Menu themes. During its first three days after launching in Japan two weeks ago, more than 1 million users have downloaded Miitomo, Nintendo’s first free-to-start social mobile app focused on building communication with friends using their Mii characters.
“With Miitomo, Nintendo takes its first step into the world of smart devices,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Miitomo brings the special Nintendo charm and polish that people around the world love to an entirely new format and audience.”

Alongside the western launch of Miitomo and My Nintendo, an enhanced web browser-based version of Nintendo eShop will become available on Nintendo’s official website. This unified digital storefront will offer a library of more than 2,000 games and can be accessed via personal computers or smart devices.
Of course, users will still be able to access the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShop service from their systems, too, and purchases of games will earn My Nintendo Gold Points.
