Details surrounding Nintendo’s next video game platform, codenamed “NX,” have been scarce, but The Pokémon Company suggests it’s a hybrid.
Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company, has shed some new light on Nintendo’s mysterious “NX” hardware. Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Ishihara said the following:
“The ‘NX’ is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a handheld device. We will make games for the ‘NX’.”
Nintendo has yet to share any specific details about how their next-generation platform will work, or whether or not it will operate similar to how Ishihara described it above.
Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima previously said the Nintendo “NX” price, its features, and launch titles will be introduced some time this year ahead of its planned worldwide debut in March 2017.
