RISE: Race the Future, from developer VD-Dev Games, is coming to Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in 2016, with a Nintendo NX version also planned.
In addition to Nintendo platforms, France-based indie studio VD-Dev and professional automotive designer Anthony Jannarelly — known for having penned the exclusive supercars of W Motors and co-funding Jannarelly Automotive — will bring the racing game to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam, and mobile devices later this year.
The announcement from VD-Dev Games would suggest the developer has received a Nintendo NX development kit or has knowledge of the system’s supported development software. A release window for the NX version of RISE: Race the Future has not been announced.
It’s another game from the racing genre for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS owners, but it’s the first official racer announced for Nintendo’s upcoming video game platform, codenamed “NX.” While the game’s trailer, below, displays a fan-made “Nintendo NX” logo as one of the supported platforms, “NX” remains a hardware system the public still knows nothing about aside from a planned March 2017 global debut.
VD-Dev Games previously brought third-person shooter IRONFALL Invasion to the Nintendo 3DS eShop in February 2015.
