Portable Yoshi’s Woolly World Lands February 2017 With Cute amiibo

A portable version of Yoshi’s Woolly World, Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World, arrives on Nintendo 3DS in February 2017 with a new yarn amiibo.

Nintendo announced the on-the-go version of developer Good-Feel’s 2015 Wii U title during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct. While Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World features all the same stages found in Yoshi’s Woolly World, there are some extras.

“[Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World] contains some new features, not to mention every single stage in the Wii U version,” said Bill Trinen, a senior product marketing manager at Nintendo of America. “There are also exclusive new stages focused on Poochy. Time Poochy’s jump to collect beads as you head for the goal.”

Information about how the game’s yarn-made Poochy amiibo works will be shared at a later date. However, it’s worth noting that scanning amiibo in the Wii U version of Woolly World can unlock specially themed costumes.

Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World launches in North America and Europe on February 3, 2017. Japan is expected to receive the game a few weeks earlier on January 19.
