PlatinumGames Shares First Glimpse of Bayonetta amiibo

PlatinumGames has shared the first glimpse of the much anticipated Bayonetta amiibo figure, precisely designed after the Umbra witch herself.

Two years ago today, on September 20, 2014, Bayonetta 2 debuted in Japan as a Wii U exclusive title published by Nintendo. Since then, the game’s iconic tongue-lashing character, Bayonetta, has seen her fair share of time in the spotlight — from a secret character in The Wonderful 101 to a DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

But today, PlatinumGames director Yusuke Hashimoto shared with fans the first glimpse of the Bayonetta amiibo figure, pictured below.

“I’m afraid that this little taste is all I can give you right now, since we’re still working hard to get her just right,” Hashimoto said in a blog post. “But I assure you that we’re going to capture everything you know and love about Bayonetta — every detail down to the exact sizes of her glasses and eyes — and bring you an amiibo that’ll meet your every expectation.”

However, there’s still no official release date for the palm-sized witch. Speaking of which, there’s still no word on the release dates for the Cloud and Corrin amiibo figures. But they’re still coming to Super Smash Bros. — Nintendo promised.
