Mythical Pokémon Genesect Blasts to GameStop on November 1

A limited-time Mythical Pokémon Genesect event is blasting to GameStop stores via special serial code distribution starting on November 1.

From November 1 to November 24, owners of Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, or Pokémon Y on Nintendo 3DS can download the level 100 dual-type Bug/Steel Pokémon. Trainers in the U.S. can visit participating GameStop locations (EB Games in Canada) to receive a serial code card for Mythical Pokémon Genesect.

This special Genesect knows the moves Magnet Bomb, Signal Beam, Solar Beam, and Techno Blast. It also has the Ability Download, which allows Genesect to adjust its power based on an opposing Pokémon’s stats.

Genesect first appeared in the Generation V Pokémon games on Nintendo DS. “This Pokémon existed 300 million years ago,” according to its Pokédex entry in Pokémon Black Version 2. “Team Plasma altered it and attached a cannon to its back.”

Trainers who download Mythical Pokémon Genesect can then collect four cassette Drives — Burn, Chill, Douse, and Shock — to change the type of its Techno Blast move; in Pokémon X & Y, show Genesect to a Hiker at the Fossil Lab in Ambrette Town, and in Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, show Genesect to a Street Thug in Mauville City.

The Genesect event at GameStop is the second-to-last in celebration of 20 years of Pokémon. Last month, Mythical Pokémon Keldeo kicked into gear via Mystery Gift on Nintendo Network, and in December Trainers can look forward to adding Mythical Pokémon Meloetta to their party.

Receive Mythical Pokémon Genesect:

1. Make sure your Nintendo 3DS system is connected to the Internet.
2. From the menu, select MYSTERY GIFT.
3. Select RECEIVE GIFT, then YES.
4. Select GET WITH CODE, then YES.
5. Enter the serial code you received.

From here, simply speak to the delivery girl in any Pokémon Center to receive your new Pokémon. Enjoy!
