A special Fire Emblem Fates Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL system launches in retailers across the United States next month, Nintendo announced yesterday.
Fans of Intelligent Systems’ long-running Fire Emblem series can purchase the new Fire Emblem Fates Edition hardware — artistically themed after the game’s two versions, Birthright and Conquest — beginning on February 19 at the suggested retail price of $199.99.
According to a press release distributed by Nintendo, the hardware will not include either version of the game. February 19 also happens to be the date Fire Emblem Fates arrives on Nintendo 3DS.
“Fans of role-playing games have just received a boost to their excitement stat,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Nintendo platforms have always been home to high-quality RPGs, and with even more games launching in 2016, this trend is set to continue in a big way.”
Fire Emblem Fates DLC will offer a third storyline, completely separate from Birthright and Conquest, called Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation. It will launch in the eShop on Nintendo 3DS beginning March 10.
As a reminder, New Nintendo 3DS XL systems do not have interchangeable cover plates; that style customization option is currently only available on New Nintendo 3DS systems.
