If you’re a Nintendo fan, chances are you’ve heard of Shigeru Miyamoto, Satoru Iwata, and perhaps even Shigesato Itoi. These fine men all share something special in common, aside from having a connection with the Nintendo brand.
It all started in 1994 when the three of them, along with their development team, eagerly began working on a new title called EarthBound 64 (Mother 3 in Japan) for the Nintendo 64 home console. Unbeknownst to them, the project would turn into a six-year long, ill-fated and grueling experience. It would be one that they would never forget.
In fact, we recently published an article of a recent English language-translated 13-year old discussion between the three gentlemen who freely spoke about the whole ordeal, and why it never came to fruition on the Nintendo 64. In our article, there’s something we didn’t share: a batch of rarely seen screenshots from the canceled project.
