Wii U System Update Version 5.1.0 Now Available

Nintendo has released a new Wii U system update, which focuses on an array of new features and options. Under version 5.1.0, Wii U owners can perform a system transfer between two Wii U systems by utilizing a new option from the System Settings menu.

Additionally, the Nintendo eShop on Wii U can be navigated by using new controller options to include: the Wii Remote, Wii U Pro Controller, or Classic Controller. And, of course, system stability has also been enhanced to provide users with a better overall experience.

Wii U to Wii U System Transfer

  • Users can now transfer (move) all software and data from one Wii U to another
  • A “System Transfer” option has been added within System Settings

Changes to Nintendo eShop

  • Users can now navigate the Nintendo eShop using a Wii Remote, Wii U Pro Controller, or Classic Controller

Improvements to system stability and usability:

  • Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience
