A period of scheduled network maintenance for Animal Crossing: New Leaf arrives next week, ahead of the game’s amiibo functionality update.
“During the maintenance window, all network services will be unavailable,” according to Nintendo’s Current Network Status webpage. The service will be conducted on Monday, October 31 from 6 p.m. PT to 8 p.m. PT.
The Animal Crossing Mini Direct is still planned to arrive in November; however, Nintendo has not announced the exact date and time. Following the Nintendo Direct, a free software update will add amiibo functionality for both figures and cards.
In addition, players can look forward to Hello Kitty content themed after six of Sanrio’s most popular characters — Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kero Kero Keroppi, Cinnamoroll, Pom Pom Purin, and Little Twin Stars. Those who like snapping pictures will be able to enjoy New Leaf’s “amiibo Camera” feature, too.
Nintendo News will keep you updated with more details about the Animal Crossing Mini Direct as they are received. Until then, it may be worth getting reacquainted with some of your favorite villagers.
