Hello Kitty content arrives in Animal Crossing: New Leaf this November, thanks to a new character collaboration between Sanrio and Nintendo.
Players can scan new amiibo+ cards to unlock various furniture items themed after six Sanrio characters: Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kero Kero Keroppi, Cinnamoroll, Pom Pom Purin, and Little Twin Stars.
According to Nintendo’s website, each pack of Animal Crossing: New Leaf amiibo+ cards will contain two random Sanrio characters cards and one with a special seal. The new cards go on sale in Japan on November 3 at the suggested retail price of 300 yen (about $2.80).
This is not the first time Sanrio and Nintendo have collaborated. In May, a themed Event Course featuring Mystery Mushroom costumes for Hello Kitty and My Melody was released in Super Mario Maker.
As a reminder, an Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct will be broadcast on November 2 and November 3 in the West and Japan, respectively. While specifics are still scarce, we do know that a software update for New Leaf will go live on that same day, which will add long-awaited amiibo support for the vastly popular four-year-old game.
Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe have not yet announced this collaboration.
