Nintendo will release a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U bundle that includes the game, a GameCube Super Smash Bros. marked controller and a GameCube controller adapter for the release of the highly-anticipated fighting game. The bundle will cost $99.99.
Alternatively, the GameCube controller adapter, which was announced earlier, will retail for $19.99 while the stand-alone Super Smash Bros. GameCube controller will be offered for $29.99.
“Many Super Smash Bros. fans grew up playing Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Nintendo GameCube system, and some will always prefer that system’s controller,” Nintendo said in a press release. “The Nintendo GameCube controller also could be used in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii. To honor that devoted loyalty to a classic way to play, Nintendo is introducing an adapter that lets up to four original Nintendo GameCube or WaveBird controllers work with Wii U.”
The new GameCube controller and the GameCube controller adapter for Wii U will launch alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U this holiday season.
