The Pokémon Company have revealed detailed instructions pertaining to how Mystery Gifts will be received for upcoming 3DS titles Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. As with the previous Generation V installments Pokémon Black Version, Pokémon Black Version 2, Pokémon White Version, and Pokémon White Version 2, a Mystery Gift option will be available from the main menu upon starting the game.

From there, the player will have the option to receive the gift via four different methods, as outlined below.

Pokémon X, Pokémon Y: Mystery Gift Options

Step 1: As seem in the image above, ふしぎなおくりもの is selected on the main menu. This is the option for “Mystery Gift.”

Unlike delivery “men” found in previous games, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y now has a delivery women who’s in charge of making sure your Mystery Gifts get delivered. As seen in the image to the right, she sports a cute blue outfit.

It is currently unknown how the serial codes will be delivered for Mystery Gifts. Presumably, they will be distributed much like how the Pokémon Global Link distributes them; via special email.

We will continue to provide updates as we receive them.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be released globally on October 12th, 2013 in both retail and digital form.
